Your first seven-prompt dive
- Choose Daily dive for the shared UTC-day challenge, or Unlimited for a repeatable practice run.
- Press Start dive. Only then does the first question open and the 25-second clock begin.
- Read every condition in the prompt. Type one answer and press Enter or Submit answer.
- A recognized answer closes the round and earns its fixed editorial points. An unrecognized answer remains editable while time remains.
- Read the result and optional accepted-answer list. Continue when you are ready. Feedback has no timer.
- After seven questions, copy a spoiler-free score summary or start another practice run.
Be precise about the category
“Name a US state starting with M” accepts Maine, Maryland and other matching states. Massachusetts qualifies; Manchester does not, because it is a city. An uncommon idea is useful only if it answers the actual question.
What happens at 25 seconds?
Answers must be submitted before the deadline. Text left in the input is not automatically submitted. Switching tabs or reloading does not restart the clock: the absolute deadline is saved with your progress. A timeout scores zero and opens feedback.
Skips and retries
Skip records zero and closes the prompt. An answer not in our curated list does not immediately end your round. You can correct a spelling or try another answer before time runs out. We use explicit aliases, not an AI judge. A valid real-world answer may be missing; “not recognized” is not a declaration that it is false.
Daily challenge versus Unlimited
The Daily dive selects seven prompts from the UTC calendar date. One completed attempt is kept in this browser for that date. Unlimited chooses a new shuffled set of seven whenever you start a run. It is unlimited replay of a finite bank, not an endless supply of unique questions.
What your score means
You can earn at most 100 points per prompt and 700 in a full dive. Points become display depth at 10 metres per point. Read the scoring guide for all six editorial tiers.
